When it comes to school work most student are told when the "due date" takes place and that it better be done on time. Below you will find advice on how to study effectively and build positive relationships with your professors. Therefore, you will learn the material needed for class and have more time for other areas of interest.

General Knowledge

   1. Students need to learn to relate to people in their major. This includes classmates, professors, and people in the same business field.
   2. Students should sit in the front of their classes in order to receive a minimal amount of distractions.
   3. Participation is key! This not only helps students to learn but also displays to the professor that they are paying attention. From there a student can start a conversation after class hours and look to build a positive relationship.
   4. Students should first study to get the basic idea of material that has been taught in class. Then they should look to study in groups. Have class friends quiz you!

Writing Essays

   1. A student should always start an essay assignment when they first receive it. Never wait until the last minute!
   2. For any questions or concerns regarding the prompt visit your professor sooner than later. Therefore, a student can clarify questions and also let their professor know they are on top of their assignment.
   3. Figure out what the professor is looking for. Most times there are many ways to write essays but if a student can figure out the exact detail their professor is looking for (style/ information) students will then build a better opportunity for successful grades!

Problem Sets

   1. A student should start out by making summaries of each required chapter. Then learn the exact meaning of each term. (definitions, formulas,etc...)
   2. Next memorize all terms. A student can accomplish this by relating the term to an object, movement, or saying. Examples include rhymes, jokes, funny words, groupings, music, sports, cars, etc...
   3. Mental visions are key to memorizing! Create visuals such as concept maps to help the memorizing process..
   4. Repeat assigned problems over and over until there is no need for help.
   5. If a student still has any doubts now is the time to ask the class instructor and/ or tutor for assistance.

Great advice! I actually use some of the same study habits and find that it is very successful. For example when i receive an assignment I always strive to start it asap therefore, I'm not cramming at the last minute.
